The objective of the procurement policy is to ensure that well informed purchase decisions are made on behalf of government. This relates to all procurement activities relating to capital and operating expenditure unless departure from the policy is expressly authorised by cabinet for reasons outlined in the policy. It covers all business processes linked to purchasing goods and services used by government and in relation to its engagements with the private sector.
